Unlock the Superhero within You: Week 2 – The Power is in your hands

Welcome to Week 2!

This week is dedicated to self-discipline- what I believe is the key to success: yourself!

Watch the video, work on your daily self-discipline and motivation, read the personal experience I share and use the meditation below.

Fuel yourself and go for it!

My experience with Self Discipline

I have always felt that having a routine helped me function better- and it is true. I also learned that we should never become slave to our routine though, we need self discipline but also flexibility.

It is important to understand why we choose to do certain exercises or eat in a certain way, what results it brings, what we strive to achieve, how it makes us feel, the impact it has on ourselves, body, mind, spirit- but also on the persons around us, on our family, our colleagues, our friends, our neighbours…

Most of the time, what we wish to accomplish in life requires daily work, study, practice. We pretty much become our habits. We can shape our body and mind, in the respect of our capacities and health.

Many people struggle with self discipline. I tend to stick very rigidly to my routine precisely because I know that if I allow myself some day off, I will take always more of them, ending up with losing parts of my routine.

What I tend to do is having a smaller routine on Sunday or when I am out of home, selecting the exercises that I feel are essential to my decent functioning on the day.

If you are wondering how to create a routine or how to get rid of bad habits (which can be an aspect of self discipline too) look at your schedule and consider how much time you can dedicate to your practice, or how you can integrate your practice or new habits in your schedule.

Then observe how it makes you feel. If you need to push yourself to do it every day, something is wrong. Maybe consider different exercises.

Of course, if you need to repeat a specific practice or to study in order to pass an exam or such, then your choice is either to renounce your goal or to focus on it in a stronger way to boost your motivation.

Anything you decide to do, cut it into daily or even hourly pieces. Start with small things, don’t over burden yourself.

It is possible to work harder for a short period of time, but always make sure to take time to recharge. You are ultimately the one in charge of your health. Pushing and challenging yourself is good but know and respect your limits.

Ideally a routine should be fun or at least bring some benefits into your life.

For example, I am often cold when I get out of my bedroom in the Winter, but my top exercise, the one that I would save above all, is the cold shower. Well, it requires courage to get into it each morning, but it really makes me feel alive and great, whatever my mood is- and after the cold shower, I am also warm!

I can give you an idea of my usual daily routine- of course, it tends to evolve with time- but it is pretty much so:

Angelic Reiki

Wim Hof Method Breathing

Grounding

Alternate nostrils breathing

30 minutes meditation

Qigong

Cold shower

Stretching/Galactic TaiChi

Vocal work

From time to time I take a second cold shower in the afternoon or evening and have some extra Galactic TaiChi, Yoga or light saber practice.

My routine takes me time but it allows me to feel good and I learned to reduce its length when needed

Enjoy finding fun in self discipline, because it has to be fun in order to work

My Kung Master used to say: Discipline can’t be imposed, it has to be chosen

The meditation I linked below can be a useful tool to use when you feel you need to renew your motivation and fuel yourself!
